  • Crash deleting the last slate with the reference pinned — Deleting the final slate in a project while the reference thumbnail was pinned to the header could crash the slate page. The pinned reference row now handles an empty project safely

  • Slate Sort Picker — Tap the green active-slate chip in the slate selector to choose how slates are ordered. Pick between Name (Alphabetical) and Creation Date; defaults to Creation Date. Small up/down arrows icon on the chip indicates the picker is tappable, and your choice persists across launches
  • References Page Sort — New sort button in the References page filter row, matching the slate-bar sort UI. Switches slate-bucket ordering between Name and Creation Date. Persisted independently of the slate bar preference so each page can be set the way you want

  • Session expiry preserves offline access — When your session expires, the app no longer wipes your offline password hash, device license, or device-tracking keys. Re-enter your password to get back to work whether you're online or offline — no full re-registration round needed
  • Cold-launch lands on the reauth screen — Closing and reopening the app after a session expires now returns you to the reauth screen with your email pre-filled, instead of dropping you back at the empty login screen
  • Offline sign-in hint on the reauth screen — The "Welcome back" reauth screen now shows a wifi-off tip telling you that signing in still works without internet — mirrors the same affordance on the main login screen so users on remote sets aren't left guessing
  • Clearer session-expired language — Replaced the misleading "Your password may have been changed on another device" wording with "Your session has expired. Please log in again." The old wording fired for every refresh failure regardless of cause and implied the user had done something wrong
  • In-project Cloud Sync handles offline cleanly — Tapping Cloud Sync inside a project while you're in an offline-needs-reauth state now shows the same inline Sign In card as the home cloud icon, instead of a generic "check your connection" error message
  • Brand-consistent cloud buttons — Sign In, Verify Code, and Upgrade Plan buttons in the cloud views now use solid wrangler blue instead of a purple-to-cyan gradient, matching the rest of the app's primary-action palette
Fixes
  • False-positive forced sign-out — Refresh-time auth failures from transient cloud hiccups, stale device-tracking keys, or clock-skew events no longer trigger the destructive forced sign-out path that wiped offline credentials and device license. The app now distinguishes "session needs renewing" (soft path, preserves your data) from "account permanently invalid" (full sign-out)
  • Copy slate naming — Copying a slate now letters-up from the SELECTED slate. Selecting V31 and copying yields V31A. Previously the new name was based on whatever was alphabetically last in the project (e.g. V48 → V48A) regardless of which slate you had selected
  • Copy slate (without takes) carries over witness cams — Duplicating a slate without take data now preserves the witness cam roster (camera, position, height). Take-level fields (clip, note) are still reset as before. Previously the no-takes path created an empty witness cam list, forcing manual re-entry every time

  • Backups Browser — New clock-and-drive button in the project list opens a browser of every auto-backup Wrangler has written. Tap any backup to restore it as a new project. Always available, no upgraded subscription required — restoring your own data isn't paywalled
  • Live Camera Data per-field hide toggles — Layout edit mode now lets you hide individual fields inside the Live Camera Data section (Height, Distance, Tilt, Dutch, Focal Length, T-Stop, Take Note, Subject Info, Clip) — not just the whole section. Hide what you don't use, keep the rest

  • Smarter session-expiry recovery — When your sign-in session times out, the app now shows a "Welcome back" screen with your email pre-filled. Type your password and you're straight back in — your projects, gear library, and offline mode stay working the whole time. Refresh-token validity also bumped from 30 to 365 days, so this fires far less often than before
  • Backups are now tied to your account — Each auto-backup carries a signed envelope identifying the creator, so restored projects know who they came from
  • Backups quick-access in the toolbar — Compact icon-only button sits between the cloud sync icon and Migrate, both in the empty-state and with-projects toolbars
  • Reduced Photo Quality (Battery Saver) — Confirmed wired through to all reference photo writes. 800px max + 60% compression now consistently applies when enabled, instead of being a partial setting

  • Reference photos no longer disappear on slate rename — The on-disk photo folder now follows the slate through name clears, rename chains, and merges into existing folders. Reference photos stay attached to the slate they belong to regardless of what you call it
  • Filename collisions during slate-folder merges are auto-recovered — If two slates with the same name end up sharing a folder (rare — UUID collisions), photos get fresh unique names and the slate's references are updated to match, instead of being silently dropped
  • Witness cam delete now requires confirmation — The small Remove WC button on the witness cam card no longer wipes hand-entered offsets and notes on a single accidental tap
  • Session expiry no longer impersonates "subscription expired" — When your sign-in session times out, you'll see a clean "Welcome back" screen with your email pre-filled — type your password to continue. No data lost, no full sign-out, no confusing license messaging
  • Battery Saver: "Manual only" widget mode renamed to "Off" — Matches what it actually does (updates are turned off, not deferred)
  • Battery Saver: removed the Reduced Animations toggle — It wasn't actually wired up to suppress any animations

  • Modular Slate Layouts — Blender-style tab system at the top of the slate page lets you switch between layouts that hide and reorder sections to match how you work. Ships with four built-in layouts and supports up to four total, including your own custom layouts. Switching layouts never destroys data — hidden fields keep their values, they just stop rendering
  • Layout Edit Mode — Reveal per-section hide toggles, per-field hide toggles, and drag handles for reordering sections. New layouts start as a copy of the current one so you can tweak instead of building from scratch
  • References Page — The old Export Refs button has been replaced by a dedicated References page. Browse every reference photo in the project in a chronological grid grouped by slate, with sticky section headers as you scroll. Tap any ref to open a full-screen swipeable viewer with a filmstrip of the surrounding photos underneath
  • Jump to Slate from Reference — Every reference section header has a Go to Slate shortcut that takes you directly to the slate the reference belongs to. The same button is also available inside the full-screen viewer
  • View References in Files — Open the project's on-disk References folder in the Files app with one tap, straight from the References page or the full-screen viewer
  • Camera Outline Colour Toggle — New project setting lets you disable the coloured border around camera cards and live camera data. Available in project settings and in the new-project creation popup, with A/B/C preview swatches so you can see exactly what you're turning on
  • Persistent Slate Page Toolkit — New wrench-icon button in the menu bar replaces the old pencil/edit button. Toggles a toolkit row that stays open until you tap it again — survives navigating away and coming back
  • Section-Jump Buttons — The toolkit's default state shows one button per visible section in the active layout. Tap any of them to snap-scroll the slate page straight to that section (Slate Fields, VFX Timings, HDRI, Camera Selector, Camera Card, Takes, Live Camera Data, Witness Cams, References, DSLR Reference Photo Sets)
  • Edit Layout pinned left — The Edit Layout button stays put on the left of the toolkit while section buttons scroll horizontally, so the entry point to layout editing is always one tap away
  • Cancel button in layout edit mode — Tapping Edit Layout swaps the toolkit content to the layout edit actions: Cancel · Save · Rename · Duplicate · Revert · Delete
  • Clear Gearset — New button in the Gear Library overview wipes the current project's gear library. Requires typing "delete" to confirm so it can't be triggered accidentally
  • Apply Preset: Add or Replace — Applying a gear preset now offers a choice. Add appends to existing gear (the previous behavior); Replace wipes the current library first and applies only the preset's items. Replace requires the same typed "delete" confirmation

  • Motion Control gear category — Grip Rigs presets now include a Motion Control category covering MRMC Bolt, Bolt Jr., Bolt X, Bolt High-Speed, Cinebot, Cinebot Mini, Mark Roberts Milo (Short Arm / Long Arm / Mini / 2.0), Cyclops, Modula, Pursuit, plus KUKA and Stäubli robot arms

  • Reference Viewer Navigation Arrows — Tall capsule prev/next chevrons sit on either side of the photo in the full-screen reference viewer, so you can step through references without relying on swipe gestures or the filmstrip. Hidden in annotate mode so a tap mid-stroke can't lose unsaved drawing
  • Disable Slide Animation Setting — New project setting under Display Settings flips the reference viewer instantly between images instead of sliding. Annotate mode forces no-animation regardless of the setting
  • Reference Viewer Toolbar Holds Steady — Close and Annotate buttons at the top of the full-screen viewer no longer slide with the photo on each page change. The toolbar is now persistent above the swipeable photo area
  • Larger Gear Picker Cells — Lens, grip, head, and filter pickers now use thumb-friendly cells (roughly double the height) with bigger labels for easier on-set selection
  • Equal-Size Gear Cells — Slate popup buttons stay the same size regardless of label length; long lens names with serial + focal length truncate with ellipsis instead of growing the row
  • Brand-Safe Project Settings Buttons — Manage Team and Report Recipients CTA cards now use brand blue and bronze instead of off-brand greens and purples, matching the rest of the app's palette
  • Lens Grids Page Rebrand — The Lens Grids page has been reworked to use blue as the dominant colour with brown accents — the reverse of the slate page — so at a glance you always know which page you're on. Every stray purple and teal on the page has been replaced with branded colours
  • Selected Slate Colour — The selected slate pill in light mode now uses a flat brand blue instead of a gradient, matching the rest of the app's treatment and improving legibility
  • References Button — The former Export Refs tile in the project home has been renamed to References and now routes to the new References page. The button stays enabled even when the project has no refs yet, so the page handles its own empty state
  • VFX Report Copy — The VFX Report tagline in the Reports popup is now "Daily VFX time report" — a more accurate description of what's actually in the report
  • Bottom panel scroll padding — Content scrolls properly above the bottom panel; fields near the bottom of the slate are no longer hidden while editing
  • Wrench button as a one-tap exit — Tapping the slate-page wrench button while in layout-edit mode now cleanly exits edit mode AND collapses the toolkit at once, instead of leaving the two states out of sync

  • Reference viewer overscroll glitch — Long lens lists in the gear-library popup no longer "seize" when scrolled past the last item. The scroll bar and bottom panel previously spazzed in tandem during the rubber-band bounce; the lazy-grid feedback loop is fixed
  • Custom button dismisses bulk-add panel — Tapping Custom in the gear bulk-add panel for grip rigs / heads / filters now slides the panel away so it doesn't sit behind the Create Custom popup intercepting taps
  • Duplicate gear items now render correctly — Gear libraries with duplicates (often from migrated projects) had items vanish from the bottom-panel popup until the user scrolled. All copies now show in their original position
  • UI Scale on the slate page — Switching to Medium / Large in System Settings now visibly grows slate fields and keypad keys again — the underlying tap-target sizing was missing from the V2 build

  • Lens serial number splitter — Setellite users embed lens serials in the lens name (e.g. Cooke s7/i 65mm - 7065-0836). The migrate sheet now shows a separator picker (Auto / Dash / Parens / Custom / Don't split) with a live preview of how each lens name splits into Letter / Lens / Serial
  • Format override on import — The detected format is now editable in the migrate sheet — pick a different format if auto-detection got it wrong, and column mappings refresh
  • Cameras imported per letter — Two cameras with the same model running side-by-side (Camera A — Sony Venice, Camera B — Sony Venice) now import as two distinct gear-library entries instead of collapsing into one
  • Project name from filename — When a CSV has no Job column, the project name is now derived from the filename (e.g. SHIVER_20241209_SINGLE.csv → SHIVER)

The rename is now refused with a clear alert
  • Deleting a project now removes its references folder — Deleting a project used to leave its reference-photo folder behind in Files, accumulating over time. The folder is now removed alongside the project record, with safety guards so nothing is touched unless the project's name is unique among the remaining projects

  • Cleanup banner for orphaned data — One-time home-screen banner detects reference-photo folders left behind by deletes from earlier app versions. Tapping Review lists what was found, with disk size, and offers to MOVE (never delete) the folders into Documents/OldProjects/ for safekeeping where you can recover them through the Files app at any time. Dismissing the banner — or successfully running cleanup — hides it permanently
